Kiev Pechersk Lavra or Monastery of Caves is one of the oldest and the most important places of worship in the Ukraine and across the former USSR. The monastery was founded in 1077 by St Anton and the caves were carved by monks who lived here. Today these caves are home to the mummified bodies of monks. Pilgrims can visit these caves and the underground church. Pechersk Lavra is considered one of the seven wonders of the Ukraine.

Kviv Pechersk Lavra, also known as the Monastery of the Caves, is the most important tourist attractions in Kiev.
Kviv Pechersk Lavra was founded in 1051 by Saint Anthony, and later a monastery was built wooden St. Theodosius. Soon, the monastery was named Lavra Cave (the main monastery, in Greek), an important religious center to grow, and today is the spiritual center of the Ukrainian people.
