The main building of the castle or palace Hellbrunn Hellbrunn (which actually is more a mansion than a palace - it is still one of the most important sights of Salzburg), was built between 1613 and 1615. "Ziergarten" or pleasure garden behind Hellbrunn Palace was inaugurated in the 17th century. Garden center is marked by a pond where there is a small rectangular island. Flowers were original baroque but later were changed repeatedly. Two obelisks in the west of Grandin is all that remains of the original design in 1730.

Hellbrunn Palace fame was on the gardens and fountains that are still here. In the park there are wells, fountains, ponds, five artificial grottoes, sculptures and statues. The entire area around the Castle Hellbrunn is a kind of Baroque Disneyland, created with the sole purpose of you enjoy rich Print Archbishop of Salzburg on his guests.
