  Original place of the revered god Dionysus, god of wine and fertility, in dance and song in the fifth century, songs like Aeschylus, Sofocles, Euripides and Aristophanes were played here. The theater was built in less moving stages, each contributing to the development of drama in the fourth century d. Ch being rebuilt with marble seats.
