Pronghorns-interesting animals
This animal is always in activity and can run at any moments on most any terrain. Thanks to their long range vision, the pranghorns can see enemies from a long distance and can react immediately. These antelopes are sociable and live in groups. During the winter time big herds will be formed and then break into smaller herds during the summer period. The groups are formed by few males, with females and young antelopes. These single groups will roam over a distance of a few miles looking for moss, shoots, grass and food. Sometimes the old males from those large groups will go out alone and perhaps in pairs and will stay away from the smaller formed groups, during the winter and spring period. Pronghorns use to stay in short grass as the inability to run is hindered by tall grass and in case of danger, they can run easily. The female prefers to leave the herd after breeding. It will take like 240 days until the female will give birth. Firstly it can be just one baby, but later she will have twins and sometimes triplets. The baby antelopes have pearl-grey color when they are born and turn to brown in a few months. Due to the color of the fur they are able to blend in with the area for safety and protection from predators. The female takes total care of the young during this period, nurses them and hunts for food. The baby antelopes are able to run very fast within four days.
Short description of the Pronghorns
