Entering the Porta Nuova and moving along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, people come across with the Ancient Nobility Seat to the right, which represents the ancient centre of the City's Government, and the Pasquale Galluppi Monument, a philosopher who was born in Tropea during the '700s.
Turning right into Via Roma, the tourists will get to see the Cathedral of Norman foundation which dates back to the 12th century. It charms with its beautiful portico to the right and Gothic portal. There are numerous works of art housed in its precious interior, that make this sacred masterpiece a real famous , must-see landmark in this city.
At a short distance from the cathedral you may see the Palazzo Vescovile, the centre of the Diocesano Museum and the San Francisco of Assisi Church. Walking back along Corso Vittorio Emanuel, the visitors can descend to admire the fantastic panorama overlooking the beautiful Spiaggia della Rotonda, the Rotonda Beach, the San Leonardo Rocky Slopes to the right and the beautiful S. Maria dell'Isola Church, founded by the Benedictines during the High Medieval period located on a rock.
There are still many other excellent places of interest, among which we like to mention the Palazzo Toraldo, the centre of Paleochristian epigraphs and the historical documents about the village, and the Annunziata Church which preserves noteworthy works from the '500s.
