  Swiss National Park was founded in 1914, represented the oldest park in Alps, an amazing recreational area, surrounded only by the miraculous beauty of the nature. This old park covers over 170 square kilometers, a strictly protected natural area. The National Park is a spectacular park, which feautures over 80 kilometers of hiking paths and nature trails, perfect for the excursion destinations organized for families with childrens. In this wild area can be seen a wide variety of wild animals including ibexes, chamois, marmots, northern hares, lizards, red deer, which freely walk around, and some beautiful birds that enchant the ambiance.   This amazing park was established in 1914, but later was remodeled and enlarged,  in 1959, is made up of a splendid area in the Central Alps, on the border of the dolomitic Eastern Alps, opening breathtaking panorama views. The area is a nature reserve with scientific aims, here are prohibited hobbies like hunting, lumbering, fishing, grazing or picking the flowers. Being a wild landscape the animals and birds grow freely and the natural processes can know their specific effects. The nature has its own progress and is left to itself, involving no changes. The entire living area including the natural processes are stricty protected,  a visible guarantee for the future development of the freely nature.   The park was established as a significant sanctuary in which the natural world is not prone to the intervation of the human being. The entire wildlife of the park is left alone to enjoy its natural  development, that is truly fascinating. Swiss National Parks is considered the hiking paradise with its unique and interesting 80 kilometers of hiking trails, situated in a mountainous area, with a altitude that varies between 1400-3200 meters above the sea level. The weather here is very unpredictable so it can change suddenly, you have to be prepared to live an adventurous experience.

 

 

   On May 31st 2008 the Swiss National Park was celebrating the inauguration of the new visitor centre in Zernez, which is definitely the most important project that goes so far, after six years of planning and construction. The centre includes three impossant building that involve different functions. The Visitor Centre is very distinctive, is a monolithic building, designed by the Grisons architect Valerio Olgiati. The centre houses many important and permanent exhibitions, about the National Park, changed with exhibitions about the natural history. The excursion that are organized here allow and encourage a large exploration in the park by the children and families. The small children will enjoy the time discovering the environment, understanding the development of the nature processes.
