From 1979, the entire garden was opened to visitors. In the center of the garden there is a 18 m high dome that covers seven hectares and contains about 400 plant species from nearly every continent. In addition to this wildflower meadow, there are other areas like the pharmacy garden installed and mounted several hives.
On 10 October 2004, in the Botanical Garden was inaugurated the Orangerie. It serves mainly the overwintering of large, valuable container plants from Mediterranean climate regions, such as Myrtle, conifer plants of the southern hemisphere and Pyrophyten from Australia and South Africa. It has a floor area of 300 square meters and is 13 meters high. Besides the Orangerie, in the garden was opened in 2008 the South Africa House. South Africa House is located next to the Orangery, and has only 330 m. It is an unbelievable area where you can enter into the diversity of the South African steppe vegetation. It is a possible life-like replica of the soil conditions and some landscape details to convey the impression of a realistic plant community.
