  Within city limits are 40 island and 345 lakes, occuping a very large area of about 453 square kilometers, some of them are protected and well preserved, like forests, hills and lakes. Some of the most polular attractions in Oslo are Norsk Folkemuseum, which has an amazing open air museum housed in the oldest building in the city. One more attractive destinations would be the Royal Palace, the Opera House, that is shaped as a ship, a gorgeous piece of architecture. Your tour can include the Akershus Castle and Fortress, the Armed Forces Museum, the City Hall, beig the house for the Nobel Peace Prize, which is organized every year, including a display of some historical and unique artifacts. The Children’s Museum, the Oslo Cathedral, the University of Oslo, the Botanical Garden are just few of the most attractive tourist destinations in this amazing city. 

 

  The tourist can also include in their tour the Kirkeristen, an very old market around the church, the Holocaust Center, Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology, the Viking Ship Museum, that relate a very interesting history. In 1903 a farmer discovered on his property a ship that belong to Viking era, with two skeletons along and immense treasure of grave goods, all in a complete form. The ship now is the centerpeace of the Viking Museum, the bow and the stern of the ship are decorated with sculptures , that are truly fascinating. Some other places for seighseeing are the Akershus Slott, that is an medieval castle, being decorated as a fortress in 1592, later rebuilt and transformed in residential castle, enchating tourist eyes with wonderful large halls, banket halls, decorated in a specific and magnificent style.

 

  Frognerparken Park is the biggest park in Oslo, being a great recreational place. It is the perfect spot for running, jogging, for having a picnic, or a barbeque, or just enjoy the time doing sunbathing, during the summer days. Frognerparken has the biggest collection of roses in Norway, including over 14,000 plants of 150 distinct species. For a complete trip in Olso the visitors must see the Det Kongelige Slott, Gamle Aker Kirke, Langoyene and Muchmuseet, the islands of the Oslofjords, the Vigeland Sculpture Park, which houses over 227 granite and bronze sculptures, made by the Norway’s sculptor Gusrav Vigeland. This park covers over 30 hectares of land. The most focused sculpture in this park is the monolith , that lies in the middle of the park. The sculptor started to work at this sculpture in 1929, and finished it in 1943. This dramatic monolith represents the humanity, it has a height of about 18 meters. Those 121 huge human figures are chiseled in one piece of stone, and are meant to represent the life cycle. Vigeland Park is one of the most visited and attractive points in Norway, that reflects the sincere emotions of the sculptor, that are free expressed by these valuable figures in the park.

 

  Beside seightseeings and landmarks the city of Oslo has exclusive areas for entertainment and recreation. There are several nightclubs, restaurants and bars, where the people can spend a lovely time in a very pleasant atmosphere. This charming city is a really pitoresque landscaping one, providing the visitors with wonderful and unrepeatable attractions, leaving on them only nice and unforgettable memories, with stunning seightseeing and natural beauties.
