  Albuquerque Aquarium is situated near the Rio Grande Boranic Garden. The Aquarium displays exhibits of species from the Rio Grande water and species of the salted water of the Gulf of Mexico. The exhibits of the aquarium provide the visitors with a wide variety of habitats, with a coral reefs, an estuary, a surf zone, or shallow water. The most attractive destination in this area is the saltwater tank that consists over 285,000 gallons, and is the perfect home for species like sandtiger, blacktip, brown and nurse sharks, different colourful reef fishes, open ocean species and sea turtles. Another attractive point of the exhibits include a Gulf shrimp fishing boat, seahorses, eel tunnel, Koi fish and jelly fish, that amaze everybody.

 

  Rio Grande Botanic Garden covers a 20 acres surface, that includes the Conservatory, located along the Rio Grande. The garden is the home for the largest cotton wood gallery in the whole world. The Conservatory includes species of native and exotic plants from all the corners of the world, and some beautiful desert plants, located in the outdoor garden. The Botanic Garden is also beautified by some notable attractions like the Butterfly Conservatory, a railroad, a Japanese Garden, a  20th century farmhouse that is completed with living animals, a fantasy garden dedicated to kids. This region also includes the Rio Grande Zoo that was inaugurated in 1927, with a 64 acres surface. The Zoo houses over 250 species of exotic animals. The zoo houses species of animals like sea lions, gorillas, camels, elephants, monkeys, hippos, Koalas, zebras, mountain lions and some chimpanzees. This area was designed with modern displays, with rocks, trees, grass and even waterfalls, that make this place a pitoresque landscaping area, stimulating the natural habitat for the animals that live here. The most popular exhibits in the Zoo is the African exhibit, Australian exhibit, the catwalk and the majestic Tropical America.

 

  On the east side of the Rio Grande is located the recreational area , called Tingley Beach, initially named Conservatory Beach. This spot was designed with small ponds, in 1930, that meant to distract the water from the Rio Grande. The Tingley Beach was used as a fishing area during the 1950s. Later, in 2005 the beach was renovated and redesigned to be open to public. Nowadays the park includes fishing areas, nature trails, a boat ponds, a restaurant and a giftshop, where people can spend numerous hours, in a very interesting place.

 

  Albuquerque Biological park is open to the public every day, except New Year, Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day, offering  wheelchair, carry-all vagons for the people that really need it. This park is  an amazing recreational space that offers the great opportunity to the visitors to learn more about animals and their habitat, serving as an educational center. It is like an environmental museum that preserve all the species of plants and animals in the best environmental conditions, favorable for their life.
