Utah is known in entire world for its picturesque places, unique canyons, impressive lakes and grandiose sandstone cliffs. But beside all of this beauty, Utah is also known for its great and unforgettable waterfalls. Because of countless canyons that cross the state and their collision with the most majestic rivers like Green River and Colorado River, formed a big number of waterfalls that delights the visitor’s eyes. It is said that in this state have gathered the most beautiful waterfalls from all United States.
The most important and most visited waterfalls are: Zion Canyon Waterfalls, "Mossy Cave Falls", Archangel Cascades, Zion Narrows Waterfalls (including Orderville Canyon), Pine Creek Falls, "Freemont River Falls", Upper Calf Creek Falls, Lower Calf Creek Falls, Battle Creek Falls, Battle Creek Falls, Provo River Falls, Stewart Falls, Kens Lake waterfall and Bullion Falls. All of these waterfalls are very unique and attracts the visitors with its incredible views and panoramas, and which really deserves to be seen.
Freemont River Falls is located in Capitol Reef National Park. The waterfall is fed by the Fremont River, which approaches the waterfall through a 100 yard sandstone channel that makes the river far more turbulent upstream from the waterfall than it otherwise would be. The fall is not very tall, about 15 ft, but is very beautiful. It is the perfect place for people who want to cool in the fall’s pool after a long journey.
Zion Canyon Waterfalls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Utah State. The fall is really tall and breathtaking. The falls are located in Zion Canyon and are more typically the ephemeral types that don't last much longer than a few days after heavy rain. The main important falls in Zion Canyon are the trio waterfalls at the Lower Emerald Pools, an attractive 300ft waterfall at the Upper Emerald Pool, and a gorgeous tall waterfall at the Temple of Sinawava.
Pine Creek Falls is located in Zion Canyon and it’s a small waterfall downstream from its technical slot canyon. Is one of the quest falls, that’s why this is a pretty pleasant tiny spot where you can escape the noisy activity in the nearby Zion Canyon. This waterfall is very good hidden from people eyes, that’s why not many visitors can enjoy its beauty.
Kens Lake waterfall is another captivating waterfall, whichwater tumbles over red sandstone cliffs, creating a stunningly beautiful scene. This is a man-made waterfall, created when upper Mill Creek was diverted to supply water for the reservoir.
Mossy Cave Falls is another small waterfall but winning its sympathy with her unique position. The fall is located near Mossy Cave amongst hoodoos, which are spire-like pinnacles resulting from particular way cliffs of the plateau interact with erosional forces. This fall has a panoramic view along with all the red rocks and cliffs.
Stewart Falls is one of our better-known waterfalls, and one of our most photogenic. It is located just northwest of Sundance Resort. It falls in two tiers and is a moderate hike through a beautiful forest on the east side of Mt Timpanogos.
The Archangel Cascades are a series of cascades sheeting their way down the hard sandstone bedrock. These cascades can be found along the Left Fork of North Creek while enroute to the Subway in Zion National Park. These cascades feature stunning nature photography images.
Calf Creek Falls is a major feature of the Calf Creek Recreation Area. The Lower Calf Creek Falls is the most beautiful waterfall in the area. The small stream falls from a height of 126 in an elegant curve, in front of a multicolored cliff. Upper Calf Creek Falls is almost as scenic, although not quite as high and without the rainbow of colors in the cliff face.
