Barbados combines wild beaches, crystalline waters and abundant flora with great music, delicious food and great culture. Beautiful colonial buildings in Bridgetown capital dates from the seventeenth century, and many residents are descendants of African slaves brought to the island to toil on sugar plantations. Do not miss the dramatic differences between east coast and the west. The east, situated on the Atlantic, is less developed and more wild. West coast has many resorts and hotels and beaches are elegant and attractive. Do not forget the cream with sun protection factor, even on cloudy days!
You can swim in safety on the east and west coasts, but beware of the strong unpredictable currents of the south and north coasts. Waves on the south coast are excellent for surfing and windsurfing. Most of these sports are popular beaches for Silver Sands, Silver Rock and Long Beach. Swimming in coral reefs and underwater caves go and visit the land lush tropical gardens, sugar mills, rum distilleries and mansions of the plantation.
The island's nightlife is lively performances of dancers from limbo and reggae music that accompanies the perfect cocktail food and local sites with rum and fresh fruit juices. Entertainment options range from beach parties to European clubs and restaurants selected.
