Frankfurt’s Bethmann Park is beautiful landscape, appears as a perfect refuge, hidden behind stone walls in a very busy part of the city. The park initially appeared as a small private garden, in 1783, which belonged to Jewish Moritz Von Bethmann, who was a very rich banker. In 1941 the park was confiscated by the Nazi Government, but later the family members of Bethmann decided to give the park property to the city of Frankfurt, to be used as a public park.

The park during the time became a splendid place with colorful flowerbeds that fascinate everybody’s eyes, one of the most wonderful parks of Frankfurt. It seems to be the ideal place for a chess game, on the outdoor chess board that features the park. Here people can relax, can spend the time in a very peaceful atmosphere. The main attraction of the park is the Chinese Garden, that was created in 1990, in the memory of the people who died in the Tiananmen Square massacre. The majority of the elements and materials that beautify the garden were imported from China, creating a specific Feng Shui style, made by the Chinese craftsmen. They tried to do the best to create this magnific garden that delight visitor’s eyes with miraculous plants that reflect peace and harmony. The garden is surrounded by stone walls and at the entrance you will be welcomed by two Chinese lions. The Chinese Garden also includes a temple and a pagoda that fascinate the visiors through its Shinto style.

The park includes a center for advices where the visitors can find out about flower’s diseases or sick plants, and can find the perfect way to treat the affected plants. The park feautures a great splendor of flowers that impress, being the home for the beautiful nature and the perfect place for serenity or meditation. The Bethmann Park definitely worths a visit while in Frankfurt, especially the Chinese Graden, which is a uniqye treasure for this city. The old people can find here the silence and the peace that they really need, playing a chess game or just enjoy a very nice day covered by fresh air.
