  A very fascinable and gorgeous building in the Center of Bucharest, the Capital of Romania is The Palace of the Parliament. This imposant palace is the largest building in Europe and was fondated by Nicolae Ceausescu, who gave the name of House of the Republic, on 25 july 1984. It is a unique masterpiece and is designed in a eclectic neoclassical style, using material from Romania only. The buiding appears as 86 meters high building, with 92 meters underground. It includes 1100 rooms in 12 stories .When was built this palace 40,000 people had moved from their homes; the palace measures 270 meters by 240 meters, including also 2 underground parking spaces. For the construction of the building were needed 3,500 tonnes of crystal for 480chandeliers , 1 million cubic meters of marble, brought from Transylvania, 700,000 tonnes of steel and bronze used for the windows and doors, 900,000 cubic meters of wood for parquet.
 
  For the construction of the building were demolished 30,000 homes, three Protestant Churches, six synagogues and Jewish temples and nineteen Orthodox Churches. The largest room in the palace has 2200 square meters, and a huge frame stands in a empty room and supposed to be dedicated to a photo of Ceausescu and his wife. Since 1997 the Palace of the Parliament was the house for the Chamber of Deputies. There have worked over 700 Romanian architects who have created this spectacular building using elements and motifs from different sources creating the neoclassical monument. During the construction there have worked over 20,000 people, working 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Some people relate that for this construction Ceausescu lent money from different countries, and payed those debts by exporting all the agricultural or industrial products, leaving  the citizens to live in poverty.
 
  Today the palace is the house for the National Museum of Contemporary Art and there are organized tours every day. The Palace of the Parliament is open everyday and offers the possibility to visit it for every tourist that is interested in the history of this nation or about the life of Nicolae Ceausescu, who has a negative fame all over the world. All of the visitors find this place magnificent, enigmatic and charming. It fascinate for its exclusive marble staircases, carved wooden balconies or the spectacular chandeliers of crystal.
