The life at the Kerguken Islands archipelago is simple, because of the it is located in the south part of the Indian Ocean and has no direct links with the modern world. The only activities in the Kerguelen Islands are the investigations, researches and scientific studies. Besides these, there can be found some agricultural activities as sheep and rabbits growing, small gardens with main products for the first necessity. There are placed some fisher spots, but this activity is limited, because of the protected sea areas.

Due to the cold climate, the flora is law evaluated and it is based on lichens, mosses, bushes. The water animals include penguins, walruses and a variety species of birds. In the Kerguelen islands rains, snows almost every day. With all these extreme conditions, there are animals and birds that settle at the Kerguelen islands. The wildlife on the Kerguelen Islands is formed by penguins, elephants, seals, rare birds, albatrosses. The island’s soil is not as rich, because it is rocky and covered with wild plants, grass. Due to the fact that the islands complex appeared in the result of enormous lava flows, there are present some active volcanic points. The islands are places along the Antarctic line, fact that creates such a windy and raw weather. Despite the not really convenience weather and relief, the Kerguelen Islands are recognized as a really important point, from the scientifically and geographical point of view, because the present possibilities to explore, investigate and monitor the natural evaluation process.
