Fisherman’s Wharf is a great touristic destination, in a neighborhood in San Francisco. It is a great area where you can find seafood restaurants , museums, submarine and a lot of attractive places that you should visit. During the time here was the ideal area for fishermen to show their catch for that day. The boats and the area has suffered many changes but the Fisherman’s Wharf still remains the heart of the fishing industry. From its old times the area was famous for the population of Dungeness crab.
In our days the Fisherman’s Wharf is a very populated area especially by those who are for the first time here. Many people come here to taste from the delicious seafood that is solding that is fresh and unique. Another attraction here is the Ghirardelli Square where they can try from the tasty chocolate. Also you can make a visit to The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park , or at the Musee Mechanique, Wax Museum. Nearby the wharf you can visit the Hyde Street Pier where is the biggest collection of historic ships. The World War II submarine USS Pampanito is situated close on the Pier 45. At Pier 39 you can see the Aquarium of the Bay which is amazing , it offers the possibility to walk into the tunnels to see the marine animals like sharks or bat rays.
Fisherman’s Wharf is a vibrant area that opens the gate to a very busy day for those who want to discover the glorious history of this unique place. On the streets corner you can find some artists that make nice work, impressing through their originality. The best thing on this area is the sea lions that are very noisy but leave a great experience in the same time.
This is the most populated area in San Francisco with over 12 million visitors every year. There are some amazing vistas that overlook the Bay and a lot of restaurants that keeps everyone happy while in this beautiful place. The Fisherman’s Wharf is home for many events, the most important are 4th of July, Crab season and Fleet Week. Here you will never get bored because everything is new and curiosity will dominate. The crowd is huge and everyone wants to find something and to see something so it is very hard to keep a peaceful atmosphere, anyway there are a lot of reasons to visit this wharf starting with its fresh and unique seafood and ending with the museums and the parks that will fascinate you.
