Chad is a country situated in central Africa and shares borders with Niger to the west, Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest, Sudan to the east, the Central African Republic to the south and Libya to the north.
Chad has a great natural and cultural potential yet unsufficiently exploited. Visitors will fell in love with the place while boat riding on Chad Lake. Chad Lake is the second largest in Africa and is a great source of fresh water to millions of inhabitants. Furthermore, Chad is home to over 200 different ethnic and linguistic groups, this fact explaining the rich cultural patrimony of the country. In order to find out more about the traditions, culture and history of the country, you can visit the National Museum or Chad Cultural Centre. The teeming wildlife can be watched at Zakouma National Park. Visitors can practice tourism for hunting in the south and southeast of the country. When you travel here, make sure to not miss visiting Abeche, the ancient capital of the Ouaddai Empire, desert landscapes of Ennedi plateau and cave paintings as well.
A relatively good time to travel to Chad is between March and May, because it is dry, however the temperatures are very high and the visit can become difficult to bear with. From December to February would be the perfect timing for tourists, as the weather is dry and pleasant.
