Cambodia is a country located in Southeast Asia that is bordered by Thailand to the west and northwest, Laos to the northeast, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest.
The number of tourists in Cambodia is continuously increasing; most of these come from Korea, Japan, USA, Taiwan, China and others. Tourism is flourishing in this beautiful Asian country, while economic and political situation becomes stable as well. The numerous temples, including the largest edifice, Angkor Wat, is a wonderful attraction for tourists, which stands as testimony to the Khmer Hindu civilization.
If you plan to visit Cambodia, make sure to include the following attractions on your route: Battambang -the second largest city in Cambodia with great colonial architecture; Phnom Penh - the capital city, where Wat Ounalom, Wat Phnom and Wat Moha Montrei can be found; Siem Reap –with the Angkor temples; Bokor National Park, Choeung Ek, Kirirom National Park, Phnom Sontuk - the most important and sacred mountain in Cambodia; Angkor Temples.
The most pleasant time to travel in Cambodia is December and January, when temperatures and rainfall are low. The time period from February to June should be avoided due to very high temperatures (above 40 degrees Celsius), high humidity; besides, the monsoon can bring torrential rains. The country's biggest festival, Bon Om Tuk, is held in early November.
