Germany is a country in central Europe. It is bordered by Denmark to the north, Poland and the Czech Republic to the east, Austria and Switzerland to the south and France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands to the west. Germany has access to the North Sea and Baltic Sea. The capital and largest city of Germany is Berlin.
More than half of the tourists visiting the country come from 6 countries: Germany, USA, Great Britain, Switzerland, Italy and France. Cultural tourism prevails over the other types and the most visited cities-museums are Berlin, Munich and Hamburg. The best cities to visit are: Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Nuremberg, Hanover, Dresden, Frankfurt am Main, Sanssouci Palaces and Cecilienhof from Potsdam.
Germany is a good destination all year round, but most tourists prefer to visit the country between May and September, when the sky is blue and people spend more time outdoors. Beer terraces and cafes are full of bustle, events and festivals bring color to villages and towns. Climbing, cycling and swimming are general concerns, at least as long as weather permits. Between March-May and October-November, less tourists can be encountered, while the prices are lower and the weather can be surprisingly pleasant too.
