Belarus is a country located in Eastern Europe. The bordering countries of Belarus are Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. The relief of the country is predominantly flat, with marshy land. There are no mountains here; the highest point is Dzyarzhynskaya Hara at 345 metres. It has no access to the sea, however it has more than 11.000 lakes on its territory. The country is in the transitional zone between continental climates and maritime climates, with cold winters and cool, rainy summers.
Since 1990, tourism in Belarus has become a form of economic activity. During the last three years, tourism industry income has exceeded $ 20 million and increases by 8% every year. While visiting Belarus, the following places should not be missed: Hrodna, Minsk, Brest Fortress, Dubutki outdoor museum, the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, Grodno Oblast, Oblast Brest, Gomel oblast and the national parks, which are the pride of Belarus. The best time to visit Belarus is winter, as it offers the most beautiful and stunning views, but avoid the first snow in late October and thawing in April when the ground becomes muddy.
