Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, the place where Michael Jackson has found his eternal peace, is among the world's most fascinating and famous cemeteries, being one of the tourist attractions in the City of Angels.
Forest Lawn is located on the hills of Hollywood, on the southern slope of the San Fernando Valley, near Burbank and is bordered by Disney, Universal and Warner Bros. It is a cemetery of stars and is part of the cemetery Forest Lawn Memorial Parks & Mortuaries, considered a cultural and religious institution, where many events take place. Furthermore, the site is registered in the tourist circuit; along with dozens of chapels and statues, there is also a museum here. Moreover, here there are officiated marriages, the most famous one being that of Ronald Reagan and his first wife, actress Jane Wyman.
Forest Lawn was founded in 1917 by Hubert Eaton. Among the many celebrities and personalities who have found peace here there are included: Walt Disney, Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, Stan Laurel, Robert Altman, Edgar Buchanan, Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke, Bette Davis, Roy Oliver Disney, Walter Elias Disney Marvin Gaye, Jill Ireland, Buster Keaton, Dorothy Lamour, Fritz Lang, Jeff Porcaro, George Raft, Telly Savalas, Rod Steiger, Jack Teagarden, Forrest Tucker, Lee Van Cleef and Michael Jackson.
The grave of the King of Pop was opened to public starting with the one-year anniversary of his death. Even before access was allowed to visitors, acts of vandalism were recorded, as several fans chose to post messages near his tomb. Even if the investigation on his death is still in progress, Michael Jackson will continue to attract a record number of pilgrims in the coming years, overcoming any other celebrity.
