Naxos has, in the opinion of some, the most beautiful beaches in the Aegean, the most peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and a landscape that leaves you open-mouthed. Most of the Cycladic island has an area of 400 square miles - and the tourist infrastructure is present only on its shores. Most of the 64 villages are mountainous, are well known for cool climate and local cuisine. Naxos is loaded (literally and figuratively) with archeological sites, monuments, museums and plenty of lesser known places, perfect for bike rides to small incursions. Naxos is an island ... to discover. Perfect for those who like peace and culture, sports and nature, history, relaxation and tradition still very well preserved.
