Borghese Gallery houses collections Sciopone Cardinal Borghese in the 16th century, the building of the historic Villa Borghese Pinciana summer, located on the outskirts of Rome. Reinaugurat after 14 years of restoration work, the Borghese Museum, with its impressive architecture and sumptuous decor are the perfect setting for the works exhibited. The collections are displayed in only 20 rooms on two floors, but nevertheless, the Borghese Gallery is an interesting alternative to many other larger museums of Rome.
Permanent collections: Hosting the works by artists such as Raphael, Titian, Bernini, Savoldo, Canova and Cranach (among others), this museum does not include a classic contemporary creation.
Exceptional works: With many of the sculptures exhibited exactly the places they were created, Gian Lorenzo Bernini's masterpieces are distributed all over the museum. Life-size marble sculpture of Apollo and Daphne is one of maturity baroque creations of the artist as totdata and one of the most valuable works from the museum.
