This medieval fortress was built in 1156, is in town with the same name, climbed on top of Trikala Hill, 80 meters high and is the second largest fort in Rajasthan. The fort has yellow walls and bastions that acquires a golden color at sunset, which gives another name Sonar Kila or Golden Fort. The fort has four gates named Akhaiyal, Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol and Hava Pol; five palaces called Sarvottam Vilas, Akha Vilas, Gaj Mahal, Moti Mahal and Mahal, and other attractions are drawn murals on the arches and the arch springs. The fort also has 76.2 meters high and is reinforced by an imposing sandstone wall embattled and 9.2 meters high, 99 bastions and a regular water source.
