Kinkaku-ji Temple was originally built for the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu serve as a retirement villa. That is a kind of asylum staff. Son to the school converted Rinzai Zen temple. The temple burned twice by the fifteenth century and once in 1950. The two floors of the temple are covered with a layer of real gold.
