Gabon is a country situated in west-central Africa and is bordered by Cameroon to the north, Equatorial Guinea to the northwest and the Republic of the Congo to the east and south.
Tourism is currently developing here. Gabon is one of the most welcoming destinations in Africa and one of the most expensive tourist destinations in the world as well, so that the main tourist target group is exclusively the ones that can afford the high expenses. However, it is worth visiting the country, as it offers fascinating landscapes –the roaring rivers, wild animals, exotic birds and lush tropical forests create the perfect setting for an art painting. Political stability and economic prosperity are factors that positively influence on the development of tourism.
If you decide to pay a visit to the country, make sure not to miss visiting the Ogooue River with its famous waterfalls, the "Crystal" mountains, the coastline extending on more than 800 km with fine sandy beaches, lagoons and estuaries; admire the wildlife in some of the most beautiful parks in Gabon, Loango National Park and Ivindo National Park and, of course, explore the capital city, Libreville.
The best time to visit Gabon is during the dry season from May to September, as the rest of the year is very hot, with frequent rains.
