  The island of Cyprus is situated in the Middle East area, in the Mediterranean, bordered by Syria to the West and Turkey in the South. It offers everything that is beautiful in Greece and Turkey: sunny Mediterranean beaches, charming villages and ruins of ancient civilization.

 

  The Greek Cypriot area has registered a real boom in the last two decades, partly due to the development of tourism facilities. If you want to pay a visit to Greece, you should visit Nicosia (the capital city), Famagusta (with Catholic churches dating from the 12-14th century, transformed into mosques; Venetian Palace -16th century), Larnaka (medieval fort, nowadays a museum), the church of St. Lazarus, from the the ninth century, in Byzantine style, Limasol (medieval fortress, built on the site of a Byzantine castle). The time to make a visit in Cyprus depends on the experience that every tourist wants to have here. Since the island is under an intense Mediterranean climate, the weather on the island can be easily forecasted.
