In a hundred years after the Dutch discovered the body of the Prambanan in Indonesia, the British stepped aside ashes on him and saw that it is not just a pile of stones, as believed. Today, surrounded by a stone wall four feet high, was restored only nucleus of this ensemble. It is composed of three main temples, three secondary, plus eight, with four of them formed some gates in the middle of each side wall and the other four are located at the corners. Though not the biggest temple in Indonesia (honor awarded to the Borobudur temple) and Prambanan compensates by grace and beauty what it lacks in size.
Prambanan Temple is the largest Hindu temple in Southeast Asia, located about 20 km east of Jogja, 40 km west of Solo and 120 km south of Semarang, located right on the border between Center Java Province and the province of Yogyakarta Special Region. Prambanan temple has a shrine of Siva mainly about 47 meters high and completed more than 200 other small temples. On the wall of the main temple are sculptures of the Ramayana story, an ancient Sanskrit epic.
